New organic skin care brands at Watsons

Bod Organic Skin Care

Looks like we now have more options of organic and natural skin care products from Watsons. Besides Lavera, Trilogy, Renew and Sukin, I spotted products from Bod, Juice Organics and La Claree. The Yes To Cucumbers and Yes To Tomatoes range that I’ve been looking out for are also in stock now.  And what’s good to know is that the prices of these new products are all within the affordable range.

Bod from Australia
The Bod range from Australia includes face, body, bath, essential oil blends and soaps. A couple of products look interesting, in particular the Organic Moroccan Rose Face Oil and the White Tea Cleansing Gel. The prices are fairly reasonable;  lower than the Trilogy range if I remember correctly. In addition, the brand is offering a Bod island-wide launch promotion with 10% off the prices currently.  Definitely a good time to test some of the products if you’re interested.

Juice Organics

Juice Organics from USA
Juice Organics is a drugstore brand launched from Juice Beauty that meets both the 70% and higher USDA and COPA (California Organic Products Act) organic guidelines.  The unique formulation include a 100% certified and patent pending organic juice base and some of its products contain powderful antioxidant technology, including alpha-lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10, peptides, fat soluble vitaminc C and essential fatty acids.  I have always wanted to try Juice Beauty but their prices are a tad high in my opinion.  Juice Organics on the other hand is within reach, with prices starting from S$14.90.  I might try out the cleanser which cost around S$23 later but first, I want to find out if the  orange juice base is good for someone who is concerned with photosensitivity.

Yes To Carrot Cucumbers & Tomatoes Range

Yes To Cucumbers & Yes To Tomatoes range
Believe it or not, I’ve never bought one single item from the Yes To Carrot range except for the lip balm.  Somehow the products within that range never appealed to me.  However, the Yes To Cucumbers and Yes To Tomatoes range are a different story and  I was very thrilled to see them available here and am already planning to get the facial cleansing gel or facial wash which are around S$15+ each.  However, I still have a couple of Sukin facial wash to finish up before I can move on to new ones.

La Claree Oliv’ from France
Besides these three range, there is also the La Claree Oliv’ Organic Skin Care range which I’ve reviewed recently.  I like the hand cream very much and the body cream is also growing on me.  Their star product is the Radiance Elixir at S$54.90 and its key ingredients include 53% jojoba oil, 18% macadamia oil, 3% sunflower oil, 3% olive leaf extract, 0.5% evening primrose oil, 0.5% vitamin E, green tea, edelweiss and aloe vera, palmarosa, cedar and lemon essential oils.

So anyone has tried any of these new organic products from Watsons?  Any feedback or any other new organic or natural skin care brands I might have left out?

  1. Jyoan says:

Was very happy to see the Juice Organics, cos I like the packaging. haha. But I am also concerned about the orange juice. Very afraid that I will be sensitive towards it.

Yes To Carrots range doesn’t appeal to me too. Tested their moisturizer, but didn’t get the “shiok” feeling.

  2. Paris B says:

Awesome! Where can I find the Yes to Tomatoes range? I have someone going to SG over the weekend ?

  3. Blovet Beauty says:

I’ve seen these organic brands in Watsons too but didn’t try a single one…I hope more ppl review ?

  4. heather says:

i saw these 3 organic brands while i was at watsons ion. bods and la claree attracted me but not yes to tomatoes and juice organics. i was reading the ingredients for juice beauty and it seems like the brightening range contain natural aha? yes to tomatoes and cucumber range ingredients made me hesitated on buying them =/

  5. sesame says:

I don’t like the smell of Yes To Carrots. Anyway, the products don’t excite me.

  6. sesame says:

    Twittered!

  7. sesame says:

I saw some reviews on Bod at Cozycot and sounds quite good.

  8. sesame says:

I checked them briefly on the cleansers and seems okay – no ingredients I usually avoid. Not sure about others.

  9. WinA says:

i luvvvv organic products! Especially the ones with cucumber and tomatoes. Works well for me.

  10. Miss Vinny says:

Hmmm… Juice Organics(Brightening range): the cleanser and moisturiser contain Disodium EDTA which I’d avoid. Or maybe I’m too paranoid. As for Bod range, anyone has the list of ingredients for their products? I looked up their site and there was nothing about that.

  11. Miss Vinny says:

Oh and uhm… Yours Essentially is closing down. Anyone knows a good local replacement for it?

  12. sesame says:

I use stuff with Disodium EDTA sometimes…it’s listed at 3 – moderately hazard under EWG. I don’t have an issue with it so not too concerned. For BOD, if it’s not on the website, then it’s only on the products. I only checked some briefly…

  13. sesame says:

An alternative is whoopeekiddies but their packaging isn’t as great as YE.

  14. krya says:

hi all here are the ingredients list of bod cleansing gel..what u all think?are they safe?
white tea extract, sodium cocoyl sarcosinate (plant derived), xanthan gum, decyl glucoside (coconut derived), citric acid, oat protein extract, magnolia acuminate extract, , potassium sorbate (plant derived), tangerine, geranium, yucca schidigera extract ylang ylang essential oils, sodium hydroxyl-methyl-glycinate (wheat derived preservative.)

  15. sesame says:

Hi Krya: Thanks for posting the ingredients. I’m not familiar with some of the ingredients but with they look generally fine to me…nothing suspicious to flag out. I also like the fact that they don’t use photo sensitive ingredients. Tangerine perhaps but it’s at the end so the content should not be worrisome.

  16. krya says:

sesame, do u mean photo sensitive ingredients are harmful to our skin?why is it so?pls enlighten me..hehe

  17. sesame says:

Photo sensitive ingredients mean these ingredients cause our skin to become more sensitive to the sun. While we should always be wearing sunscreen, but these ingredients are better used in the evening skin care routine. Even in natural or organic products, the citrus oils and even lavender can cause such problems.

You might want to read my posts here:

If the ingredients are at the bottom of the list, then don’t worry too much as the contents are probably little.

  18. Ally says:

I’m a HUGE fan of the Juice Organics line! They recently updated their packaging and even have a pomegranate and hair care line now! I feel comfortable with their ingredients and supporting them as a transparent and honest smaller brand. I love Juice Organics!

  19. sesame says:

That’s good to know. I may try their Pomegranate line instead later – I like Pomegranate!

  20. Deanna says:

I would love to hear more about the “Yes to Cucumbers and Tomatoes” range. I create skin care and am highly sensitive to cucumbers on my skin. I’m interested to find out if there are any allergy problems from people. Who knows? They might be such great skin care products that we will incorporate the ingredients in future products!

    Cheers!
    Deanna

  21. Linda says:

Bod white tea cleansing gel is my favourite! It has a refreshing scent and it cleanses my face really well. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and I haven’t had any break-outs from it.

  22. sesame says:

Strangely, I couldn’t find the Bod shelf at the Watsons I frequent recently. Thinking of trying their cleanser too.

  23. Nur Fazilah says:

I was just wondering where i purchase yes to tomatoes and yes to cucumbers range in Singapore? I found yes to carrots but looking i am looking for the other two. thanks if you could help me.

  24. Abby says:

    Hi, sesame!

Have you tried the Sukin range? I love their products’ smell but they’re all a bit rich for me, except the body lotion.

  25. sesame says:

Yes, I have…it’s okay. I classify it as a range that is really affordable but it offers just basic skin care.

  26. Jun :> says:

Hi! Which Watsons outlets have most of the brands mentioned above?

  27. Sesame Chew says:

Suggest you try Takashimaya’s. That’s the largest and carry most of the brands. But note that this is quite an old entry so some of the products may not be carried by Watsons anymore.
