How I store & organize my handmade necklaces

I’ve been wanting to store and organize my handmade necklaces like forever but never got down to the task. So I’ve been putting them in boxes but they’re not the best for storage. One, some of my necklaces get tangled up in the small space and another, I missed out on some of the necklaces because they were hidden in the boxes, away from my view!

The best way to store them is really to hang them but where? Initially, I thought of using those wire hangers for clothes but the idea just never grew on me. Then I saw some wire racks at Diaso and it hit me that those are great to serve my purpose. At S$2, it was worth a try anyway!

All at one location now
The wire racks come in different sizes and colors and I think they’re meant for you to hook stuff. I got a squarish one eventually because the size is just about right for my gamut of handmade fashion necklaces. So instead of rummaging through boxes for my necklaces, I can find them easily now, and all at one location too! Brilliant isn’t it?

Hung neatly behind my bedroom door
The wire rack should allow me to hang quite a bit of necklaces should my collection expand in future. For the moment, I’ve got the whole rack hung behind my bedroom door. And because I probably will hang some of my clothes over them too, so they’ve got some “dust protection” that way.

Idea to organize hook earrings

Oh, please tell me that I’m clever okay? LOL. Enjoy your weekend dearies! (#k8SjZc9Dxko#k8SjZc9Dxk)

That’s a great way, but u can improve it with a plastic sheet on top. Haha… I will go Daiso and buy this man.

  3. sesame says:

Plastic sheet! Great idea! Thank you! You’re cleverer than me. Hahaha… But seriously, that’s brillilant and I shall go implement that!

You’re clever! One more idea: use “S” hooks so you don’t need to unclip/untie.

    clever and organized! =p

  9. Ria says:

    Yes you are clever! =))

I just remembered that I use the neck tie organiser to hang my belts. #k8SjZc9Dxk#k8SjZc9Dxk So much for improvising.

  10. sesame says:

Using the hooks would add some convenience cos currently I’ve to place one end of the necklace over to secure or clip. But it’s not that inconvenient either cos I’ll have to clip anyway…

  11. sesame says:

Yes, that’s a great idea! Actually come to think of it, the neck tie organizer can also be used to hold necklaces too…many ways to improvise!

Reading your posts about handmade jewelry really makes me itchy for my own supplies (they are now dusting in my drawer…). Yours are quite colorful. Do you have difficulty matching them with your wardrobe? I don’t know its personal style or whatever is working behind. I can only wear those that are simple/elegant/not too big. Never those styles that you show!

  13. sesame says:

No, not difficult to match. More choices actually and the colorful ones go with white tops. The simple ones I keep for work…these for social outings. Heh.

I find that these are great way to organize jewelry, provided that you clean them regularly and/or wear them often. I normally store mine in a plastic resealable bag or in a tissue paper (individually), and stacked them in a box. I used to display them but ended up with them covered in dust (it’s really dusty here even after a week), and I ended up having to clean all my silver jewelry to get rid of the oxidization ? I wish I could display them like that though.

  15. sesame says:

True…they will get dusty so now, they’re hidden behind my clothes…think that’ll help for sure. Will get a plastic sheet to cover them too and those that I don’t wear so often goes into the box.
