I finally got round to acquiring a wraparound watch, after a prolonged procrastination. Okay, it was on sale at Shopbop and I thought, well, it goes pretty well with the color of the bag I was getting. So into the shopping cart the La Mer Simple Wrap Watch was added and it arrived three days later, fitting both my bag and my wrist very well. Sweet.
If you check out the La Mer Collection, they have plenteous of designs—from simple leather straps to more elaborate ones combining charms, chains and rocks. Elegant, classy, rock chick, exotic…you name it. The good thing about La Mer, which by the way should not be confused with the beauty brand as they’re not from the same family, is that their prices are pretty affordable. You can get one for under US$100 and even a more elaborate design cost under US$200.
Anyway, La Mer isn’t the only brand with wraparound watches. Top end luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, Bulgari have their wraparound designs and so do CK, Swatch and a few others. Obviously, price point varies as some of these designs include gold, diamonds and precious stones.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to like the watch all that much but I think it’s growing on me. I’m liking it quite a bit and maybe, just maybe, I’ll consider adding some other designs to my collection. Well, let’s wait for another sale eh? But meantime, I am on the lookout for another brand that’s already available in Singapore. It’s got some vintage designs and I’m eyeing some of their wraparound pieces. Well, I just need to buy myself some more time to check them out! Heh.
Oh, for the linguists out there, the title is deliberate.
