Shinzi Katoh Japanese bags in Singapore
Sunday, 31 May 2009
I’ve been wanting to own a Shinzi Katoh bag for a long time and was so happy to have found it at a local online store! Yeah!
Shinzi Katoh is Japan’s best known Zakka artist and designer and his collectible lifestyle goods are to-die-for. Since I wrote about the Shinzi Katoh bags in my other blog Oh My So Cute, I’ve been wishing to own one of them. So of course I was over the moon when I finally found them available at The Little Happy Shop.

The Little Happy Shop carries a limited range of Shinzi Katoh bags and this one I picked is dubbed Sheep and is a 100% cotton canvas tote. It closes with a magnetic clasp and comes with inner pockets plus a zipper pocket on back. What I like most is that the front and back design are different plus it’s very roomy and can fit a lot of stuff. However, unlike my Rootote, it’s very floppy and does not come with a base support.

This design I’ve picked is already out of stock at the moment but there are a couple of other designs you can check out if you’re interested. The Little Happyshop is based in Singapore and ships within the country only. You can receive a S$5 off by using the code “HIFIVE” but note that the code applies to a minimum purchase of S$35.00 on regular priced items. So all in all, I paid about S$39+ including shipping for this bag.
And for those who are curious, these Shinzi Katoh tote bags are designed in Japan but made in China. But I don’t have an issue with the quality as the bag I received is very well made.

How cute! I saw the Shinzi Katoh bags on another site once and was struck by the cute drawn designs. The floppiness compared to a Rootote might get to me since I’m not much into tote bags but I’ll check these out

Oh I love all his designs! They’re so cute, especially on stationery! But I don’t like all the bags though. Apart from totes, there are others like the rounded ones I found at this website. I wish they’ll bring in more next time…

Hi Sesame,
I stumbled upon your blog recently and must say I love it! I find your in-depth articles to be very interesting, particularly the ones about the use of sunscreen. Your blog truly is a breath of fresh air compared to most other beauty blogs. Keep up the good work!

Oh I love their stationery! The diaries are cute! But I couldn’t justify buying them cos I know I won’t use. As it is, I like to visit Artbox and buy their stuff which I sort of collect. Anyway, I found a limited range of Shinzi Katoh stationery at Kino over at Taka.

So soon? It’s still on their facebook and they didn’t state an expiry date.

Hi there
HIFIVE was my FB discount code that expired on 5 May but I did extend it to 30 May.
Thanks for linking my shopsite. I’ve created a new discount code for your blog readers — “4VIVA”: $4 off min. purchase $35.00 regular-priced items. Expires 30 June. Btw, I do ship internationally, not just within Singapore

Oh thanks very much Ruth for that discount code! I had just assumed that the initial discount code was available. I also hadn’t noticed you offer international shipping so that’s great!

These handbags look great, they seem large enough to carry all the necessities yet not overly cumbersome. Do they allow you to customize bags to the buyers specifications? Like interests, etc.?
