Sometime last year, a number of you mentioned that you would like to see some blogging tips at Viva Woman and so here it is, after much procrastination. To be honest, I wasn’t too keen on writing this series because I realized that there are so many blogging tips out there and I wasn’t certain what I can contribute differently. However, after some deliberation, I’ve decided to take a more critical approach to the topic and give you deeper insights on how to become a better beauty blogger. So yeah, this is for those who are serious about taking their blogs a step further.

Usually, I do not like to blog about topics outside my niche here. Neither do I like to discuss about behind-the-blog issues that I face. While some of you may have read bits of my rants in my tweets but I usually just deal with the issues as they surfaced and later dismissed them as incidents. However, increasingly, I’ve been facing more demands and collectively, these demands are a concern. So today, I’ll make an exception and discuss some issues that have been bugging me and brought me some levels of discomfort as a beauty blogger. I think it’s also important for me to address them before such issues get escalated beyond my control.

Okay ladies, I have a question for all of you. Must beauty bloggers have good skin? Or must beauty bloggers be young? I’m asking this because I’ve seen two comments these two days that bugged me.

Someone who has been reading my blog but not met me had asked me for my age. She guessed my age to be in the late 20s initially and then subsequently commenting that I cannot be older than 33. This person is a professional contact and her intentions are kind. However, that got me thinking. I don’t know how she derived those numbers but perhaps in the minds of most people, beauty bloggers must be young.
