Rootote found at Funan DigitaLife Mall

Although I appreciate the convenience of online shopping but when it comes to shopping for apparel and fashion accessories, I really prefer to purchase them at the store. Talk about instant gratification! Plus, I get inputs from people around me on how the item can fit me. This was why I picked this design from Rootote because my husband, my kid and the store assistant all told me this looks better compared to another I was holding!

DIY Beauty: making your own cleansing oil

diy-cleansing-oil

This is the cleansing oil I made during the DIY skin care workshop at Jayeon Miyin in December and I use it whenever I need to remove my makeup these days. It’s similar to those commercial oil cleansers I’ve tried, is very gentle and not too oily but it gets rid of my makeup well. It turns into a sort of milky lotion on contact with water and although it is said to be able to clean the face by itself, I still found myself having to use a soap or foaming facial after using it.

How to minimize skin scars after an operation

hojotape

Sometime ago, I blogged about my husband having a 1cm sebaceous cyst on the left side of his face removed via excision biopsis. The opening was stitched close after the surgery and he was given an anti-inflammation cream to apply after that. Funny thing however was that he wasn’t given anything to apply after his stitches were removed. All the doctor said was to avoid the sun for a couple of weeks. I applied Helichrysum hydrosol which is good for scar healing on his face daily but the stitch line was clearly visible.

Can shampoos help prevent hair thinning?

phytocyane

I bought the Phytocyane Revitalizing Shampoo for thinning hair on a whim because there was a sale at Watsons and I only had to pay S$20 for it. I have a slight problem with thinning hair due to my oily scalp but it isn’t very serious. Or at least the condition hasn’t gotten worst over the years and my hair has remained constantly…thin.
